Many modern enterprises, such as Mettle, a large financial institution in Europe, embrace DevOps methodologies - automating and streamlining the integration and deployment processes - in order to increase development speed and reliability. Mettle was able to take those principles one step further with GitOps. It allowed them to increase production speed by 50% and establish a mean time to recovery (MTTR) of 20 minutes for all clusters.

GitOps allows Mettle's development teams to use the tools that they are already familiar with - Git. Updates and features can be released 75% faster without knowing internals of Kubernetes. A true self service model for developers that reduces overhead on lifecycle management for workloads and clusters is now in place.

Watch this on-demand webinar where Steve Wade, Platform Lead at Mettle and Mark Ramm, Director of Product at Weaveworks discuss:
  • What DevOps success looks like and how to achieve it
  • What an optimal developer experience looks like
  • How to make operators successful at any scale and enable developer self service
  • How to simplify Kubernetes as an application platform with full observability
  • How to deploy apps with GitOps

Mark Ramm, Product Director, Weaveworks

Mark Ramm has been designing, building, and leading teams to work on large scale high traffic web systems since the publication of his book on the subject in 2005. In 2011, he realized that he wanted to find general solutions to the problem of managing these kinds of large scale systems and was unsatisfied with configuration management approaches available in the open source world. He switched his focus model driven orchestration, and has become a great fan of Kubernetes. He's been working with K8s for the last few years, working with some of the largest ISP's and Telcos on Kubernetes projects, designing resilient services on top of Kubernetes, and helping to get people up to speed on various aspects of the rapidly changing kubernetes world.
